Position Overview
We are seeking a Service Engineer to provide maintenance, repair, and installation support for CNC machine tools both on-site at customer facilities and remotely. This role involves troubleshooting complex electrical and mechanical issues, supporting machine installations, and delivering high-quality technical service to ensure optimal equipment performance.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC machinery, strong diagnostic skills, and a customer-focused approach to service and support.
Key Responsibilities
Provide maintenance, repair, and installation support for CNC machine tools at customer locations and via remote assistance.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to restore machine functionality.
Create and maintain documentation related to technical service procedures and machine performance.
Prepare and analyze service reports and other operational documentation as needed.
Collaborate with internal service teams and customer engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
Provide training and guidance to customer service personnel on installation, operation, and maintenance of newer machine technologies.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through clear communication and responsive service.
Manage challenging service situations professionally and respond promptly to customer needs.
Support continuous service improvement by gathering and sharing customer feedback.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred.
3–5 years of experience troubleshooting and maintaining CNC machine tools.
Experience working with CNC control systems such as Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Siemens, or similar platforms is preferred.
Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC ladder diagrams.
Excellent communication skills with a strong customer service mindset.
Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels, both in person and remotely.
Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple service demands.
Willingness to travel frequently (approximately 50%) within a multi-state region.
Work Environment
This role involves working in manufacturing and machining environments, which may include exposure to noise, electrical systems, chemicals, heavy equipment, and automated machinery. When not traveling to customer sites, work may take place in a technical or office environment.
