About the Role
We are seeking an experienced DevOps / Platform Engineer to join a technology team within a leading financial services organization. This is a hands-on role focused on building, maintaining, and optimizing cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
The ideal candidate has deep experience with Kubernetes, Azure, GitLab CI/CD, and Python, along with a strong understanding of infrastructure automation and cloud-native technologies. You will play a key role in improving the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of the organization's technology platforms.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure and platform services.
• Manage and support production Kubernetes environments, including cluster administration, troubleshooting, orchestration, and deployments.
• Develop and maintain Helm charts and support Kubernetes-based application deployments.
• Work with Istio and service mesh technologies to manage and secure service-to-service communication.
• Design, build, and maintain reliable end-to-end CI/CD pipelines focused on speed, automation, and operational stability.
• Develop and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines, including multi-stage pipelines, reusable templates, shared runners, artifacts, and pipeline-as-code practices.
• Use Python to build automation tools, infrastructure utilities, scripts, and CI/CD solutions.
• Manage cloud infrastructure and services within Microsoft Azure, including AKS, Azure DevOps, Virtual Networks, IAM/RBAC, Storage, Key Vault, and Azure Monitor.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform.
• Improve system monitoring, observability, and operational visibility using technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and Azure Monitor.
• Automate operational processes using Python, Bash, and/or PowerShell.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues across cloud and Kubernetes environments.
• Support production systems and participate in incident response and on-call activities as needed.
• Collaborate with engineering and technology teams to improve platform reliability, security, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Required Qualifications

• Strong professional experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure.
• Strong proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, infrastructure tooling, and CI/CD utilities.
• Expert-level experience with Kubernetes, including production cluster management and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with Helm and Kubernetes application deployments.
• Experience with Istio or other service mesh technologies.
• Strong experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep expertise with GitLab CI/CD, including multi-stage pipelines, templates, shared runners, artifacts, and pipeline-as-code.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, particularly AKS and cloud infrastructure services.
• Experience with cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, and cost optimization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, and/or Azure Monitor.
• Strong Bash and/or PowerShell scripting skills.
• Understanding of networking concepts, including DNS, load balancing, and ingress controllers.
• Experience with incident management, production troubleshooting, and on-call support.
• Experience working in a highly regulated or enterprise technology environment, particularly financial services.
