Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Programme Delivery Lead with strong hands-on expertise delivering large-scale SAP S/4HANA transformation programmes across global environments.

This is a senior client-facing leadership role responsible for end-to-end programme delivery — from mobilisation and scoping through to go-live and post-go-live stabilisation.

The ideal candidate will bring strong governance capability, commercial awareness, executive stakeholder management skills, and proven experience leading complex multi-workstream SAP programmes.


Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Programme Delivery

  • Lead full lifecycle delivery of SAP S/4HANA transformation programmes.

  • Own delivery from discovery and scoping through design, build, integration, testing, cutover, go-live, and hypercare.

  • Develop and manage integrated programme plans across functional, technical, data, security, testing, and change workstreams.

  • Ensure delivery against agreed scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards.

Scope & Fit-to-Standard Governance

  • Facilitate scoping workshops and define programme objectives, deployment strategy, and implementation roadmap.

  • Lead and govern fit-to-standard processes, ensuring alignment with SAP best practice.

  • Manage scope control through structured change management and impact assessments.

Programme Governance & Risk Management

  • Establish and run governance forums (SteerCo, design authority, architecture boards, etc.).

  • Own RAID management and drive proactive risk mitigation.

  • Ensure adherence to SAP Activate methodology and delivery standards.

  • Lead recovery planning where required (re-baselining, reprioritisation, resourcing adjustments).

Stakeholder & Executive Engagement

  • Act as primary escalation point for delivery matters.

  • Provide structured reporting to senior client stakeholders, including milestones, risks, dependencies, and financial tracking.

  • Maintain executive confidence through transparency and disciplined execution.

Cutover, Go-Live & Stabilisation

  • Own cutover strategy, readiness criteria, rehearsal planning, and go/no-go governance.

  • Oversee SIT, UAT, regression, and performance testing governance.

  • Lead hypercare and transition to BAU support.

  • Ensure business readiness, training completion, and adoption planning.

Team & Supplier Leadership

  • Manage and mentor workstream leads, PMO, and delivery managers.

  • Coordinate internal teams and third-party suppliers.

  • Ensure effective collaboration between technical and business stakeholders.

Change Management

  • Embed structured change management, communication, and training plans.

  • Drive user adoption of SAP-enabled processes.

  • Ensure organisational readiness beyond system deployment.


Key Requirements

  • 10–15+ years’ experience in Programme/Delivery Leadership roles.

  • Minimum 5+ years delivering large-scale SAP S/4HANA programmes.

  • Strong understanding of SAP lifecycle delivery (scoping to hypercare).

  • Experience managing complex multi-workstream global programmes.

  • Proven executive stakeholder management experience.

  • Strong governance, risk management, and delivery control capability.

  • Ability to lead diverse teams and operate in fast-paced environments.
