SAP PaPM Solution architect (Cost Allocation).

Next Ventures are execting a search for a European based SAP PaPM SME. ideally either a (Dutch or German) & fluent English speaker

Your primary responsibility is to act as a Solution Expert for the Cost Allocation stream. You must bridge the gap between the complex existing custom logic and standard SAP PaPM capabilities. Your immediate focus will be "Reverse Engineering" the current and the to-be model and conducting a Fit-Gap analysis to produce a decision paper for the Design Authority. PaPM basic architecture has been approved as par of earlier program wave, the new business requirements should fit in the current PaPM architecture of the organization   Project Context A multi-year S/4HANA program across 150 legal entities in 6 EMEA countries. The goal is to harmonize and standardize Finance processes across regions (Nordics, Netherlands, Germany), replacing fragmented ECC systems.

Remote with some travel to Berlin, Stockholm and Amsterdam
6 months contract (possibility to extend)1-2 years .
 

• The program is structured in two waves.
• Wave 1 live and wave 2 is in realization and targets go-live in January 2027.
• Wave 3 has just kicked off Fit-to-Template workshops and is planned for go-live in January 2028.

Global templates are finalized; local requirements are being mapped and validated.

Key Responsibilities
 

• As-Is Analysis: Analyze the current custom cost allocation tool and Power BI logic to understand the full depth of existing allocation cycles and rules.
• Requirement Gathering: Conduct workshops with business stakeholders (Staff functions, IT, and receiving business units) to validate requirements and identify pain points in the current process.
• Fit-Gap & Advisory: Perform a detailed fit-gap analysis to confirm if SAP PaPM can meet all business requirements.
• Decision Paper: Business Blueprints" paper to the Design Authority, providing a clear recommendation on the PaPM implementation day-today business processes and the efficient use of the requires master data
• Solution Design: Translate the business allocation rules into a technical PaPM data model.
• Integration Architecture: Define and design the integration points between S/4HANA (Source Data and Posting results) and PaPM.
• Configuration: Build the allocation cycles, calculation views, and processing functions within SAP PaPM.
• Testing & Support: Prepare functional specifications and execute unit/integration testing to ensure calculation accuracy matches or improves upon the legacy tool.

Team
You will join the Controlling core team within the S/4HANA program, working closely with the Finance business lead, IT lead, business consultants, and key stakeholders from business units.

Qualifications

• SAP PaPM Expert: Deep hands-on experience with SAP Profitability and Performance Management.
• Cost Allocation: Proven experience designing complex cost allocation models (Assessments, Distributions, Indirect allocations) specifically for Service/Staff functions in large enterprises.
• Advisory Experience: Ability to analyze custom/legacy code or logic (SQL/Excel/Legacy tools) and map it to SAP standard solutions.
• S/4HANA Integration: Strong understanding of how PaPM integrates with S/4HANA Finance.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of SAP HANA modeling (Calculation Views, SQLScript) is highly desirable as it forms the basis of PaPM.
• Architecture: Experience writing functional specifications and decision papers for high level Design Authorities.
• Dutch or German language skills are a strong plus
