SAP GTS Consultant

Next Ventures are currently executing a search for a SAP GTS SME for a new SAP Defence & Security programme .

Role Overview

The SAP GTS Consultant is responsible for designing, configuring, and supporting the SAP Global Trade Services solution to ensure full compliance with export control, customs management, and trade preference regulations.
This role ensures that international trade processes are executed in line with regulatory requirements and are seamlessly integrated with SAP S/4HANA and external government systems.

 *Applicants must Be EU nationals and eligiable to obtain NATO clearance or simlar.

Contract Details

• Duration: Initial 12-month contract purchase order with 12 month extensions (programme duration up to 3 years)
• Work Model: On-site / hybrid (dependent on security requirements)
• Remote Working: Possible, subject to programme security constraints
• Travel: Willingness to travel within Europe approximately once per month
• Location: EU-based projects
• Eligibility:
• EU or UK passport holders
• Willingness to undergo security clearance process

 
Experience:

• Extensive experience leading SAP S/4HANA implementations for manufacturing and Defence customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and refine business requirements related to:
  • Export control
  • Sanctioned party screening
  • Customs declarations
  • Broker integration
  • Trade preference management
• Configure SAP GTS modules, including:
  • Compliance Management
  • Customs Management
  • Preference Processing
• Ensure proper integration between SAP S/4HANA and SAP GTS for:
  • Master data
  • Transactional data
  • Logistics processes such as deliveries, sales orders, and purchase orders
• Prepare functional specifications for GTS-related enhancements, forms, reports, and interfaces
• Align GTS processes with:
  • Material classification
  • License management
  • Serial and batch tracking
  • Trade compliance rules
• Support unit testing, SIT, and UAT for GTS scenarios and drive resolution of compliance-related issues

Nice to Have

• Support data migration for:
  • Trade classification data
  • Business partner data
  • Licenses
  • Customs-related master data
• Prepare process documentation and training material for trade compliance and logistics teams
• Support cutover, readiness activities, and go-live to ensure continuous and compliant trade operations

Requirements

• Strong experience in SAP GTS configuration and integration with SAP S/4HANA
• Solid understanding of international trade compliance, customs processes, and export regulations
• Experience working with external government and broker systems
• European nationality or NATO clearance is mandatory
• Availability for 50% to 70% remote work, with details to be agreed upon based on project needs.
