Next Ventures are currently supporting a multi-programme with a leading financial services organisation in the Netherlands and we're looking for an experienced Databricks Architect to play a key role in shaping their data platform.

The focus is on defining the Databricks-based data strategy, architecture, and governance model, while enabling scalable, well-governed data products across the business. The role is hybrid in Amsterdam, and an initial contract duration of 12 months.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the design and architecture of a Databricks Lakehouse platform
• Define end-to-end architecture across ingestion, transformation, governance, and consumption layers
• Establish standards for data engineering, security, performance, and cost optimisation
• Work closely with data engineers, analytics teams, and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance across the programme

Experience

• Strong background in data engineering and architecture with hands-on Databricks experience
• Solid understanding of Lakehouse concepts, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and governance patterns
• Experience designing scalable data platforms in a cloud environment
